PP ABS 24 Cores Inline Fiber Optic Enclosure 2 In 2 Out Ports

An inline fiber optic enclosure is a passive housing unit designed to protect, organize, and manage fusion splices or mechanical splices in a fiber optic cable that is running point-to-point ("in-line"). Unlike a terminal or distribution enclosure that serves as an end-point for connections, an inline enclosure is placed mid-span along a cable run.

Specification:

Type Description Pros
Heat Shrink Uses a heat-shrinkable plastic sleeve that melts and forms a seal around the cable entries when heated with a torch. Very robust, excellent long-term seal, high pull strength.
Mechanical Seal Uses rubber grommets, seals, and mechanical clamps that are tightened to create a seal. No heat required. Fast installation, re-enterable, no special tools (often just a wrench).
Wrap-around / Re-enterable Two clam-shell halves that are bolted together with a built-in gasket. Often use gel-filled grommets for cable sealing. Extremely easy and fast to re-enter for maintenance or adds/moves/changes.

Features:

1.1 Splicing: To join two separate fiber optic cables together, creating a continuous optical path.

1.2 Protection: To shield the fragile glass splices from environmental factors like moisture, dust, chemicals, and physical damage (crush, impact, tension).

1.3 Organization: To securely store and manage the excess fiber (slack) and the splice points in an organized manner, typically on splice trays.

1.4 Access: To provide a service point for testing, troubleshooting, and future reconfiguration without having to replace the entire cable run.

Applications:

2.1 Underground Ducts: Splicing two lengths of duct cable.

2.2 Aerial Installations: Joining cables on a pole or between poles.

2.3 Direct Burial: Protecting splices in cables buried directly in the ground.

2.4 Long-Haul Networks: Connecting cable reels over long distances
